We just receive information from a inside source, that on Monday April 4th 2011, all Amaretto Breedables products will be removed from the Second Life grid due to multiple recent DMCA filings. Although at the moment we can not confirm this information with 100% accuracy, we do feel that our source of the information has nothing to benefit from releasing the information to us. The story that has been told to us is that, five new DMCA’s have been filed in the last two days indicating that Amaretto Breedables has engaged in Intellectual Property theft. Due to allegations of this in the past, Linden Lab feels it is in their best interest to remove all of Amaretto Breedables content until the DMCA’s can be resolved between the concerned parties.
We will keep you posted on any further information about this subject we may receive.
***UPDATE*** April Fools!!!
Come on guys, this post was so blatantly filled with clues that is was a April Fools joke. Besides just like the rest of you, we would be thoroughly upset if Linden took our horses from us too. Sorry if anyone took it seriously. Just like many websites on the internet, we chose to engage in a little prank ourselves.
We are a bit upset that still so many people do not understand the court documents pertaining to Amaretto vs. Ozimals. Tonight in group chat the subject was brought up many times. Time and time again people claimed in chat that Amaretto “won” the court case. This is completely untrue. No one has won anything yet. Ozimals was not ordered by any court to not file any more DMCA’s. Ozimals agreed NOT to file anymore DMCA’s while the case is still in litigation. This is a common practice when it comes to the DMCA process, it is not in any way shape or form a win for Amaretto. Even though with their press release on the subject they would have you believe it is. Please people read the documents. Should you feel the need to talk about them in open public, then at the very least understand what they mean. Understand that Linden Lab is a nonparty to the suit and therefore are not bound by the TRO that Amaretto paid $25,000 USD to obtain. That TRO actually challenges Linden Lab 1st Amendment rights, and they were not to happy about that. They even say so with the “opposition to motion for preliminary injunction” that they filed.
“Dakota Delicioso: i’d really hope nobody read that website anymore ….ther is plenty of stuff to read on the Amaretto sites :)”
Well Dakota apparently people do read this site. Besides you guys have deleted all the good information off your site. Now people are scared to post on it for fear they will have all their horses stolen by Amaretto.
